Good and loving God, help me to become more aware of your presence in my life, your desires for me, and the opportunities you give me to be of loving service to others. I ask this in the name of Jesus, your son. Amen.

Fasting
Do you have enough to eat? Fasting from food we like is something many of us associate with Lent. But do you fast in a way that changes your life? Fast from:
† eating out.
† throwing food away.
† letting food spoil.
† buying snack food and drinks.

Help us change lives: feeding the hungry in Brazil, Congo, Nigeria, Peru, South Africa and Zimbabwe makes a difference.

In Zimbabawe people do not need to fast in order to know what it is like to be hungry. Homeless people never know from where their next meal will come. Children in Peru know they will have something to eat today, but it will not be enough.

Our sisters in Mpese, Congo and Bulawayo, Zimbabwe realized their students were hungry. They started feeding programs in collaboration with the parents and with funds from people like you. Since these programs have started the boys and girls are healthier. For most of the children this is their only meal.

Our sisters in South Africa serve in an area marked by unemployement. Many of the children are orphans. The government subsidy for a child is $27.00. The sisters have started a program to serve their students two meals a day. Parents volunteer to do the cooking. But your help is needed to purchase food.
