Please Pray with the Sisters of
Notre Dame de Namur

Stations of the Cross

For the healing of Japan

To our many supporters and partners in mission:

Our Sisters in Japan have made a special request of us this Holy Week. They have not asked for supplies or financial donations for the people they serve. Instead, they have asked that we stand as one with them in healing prayer. We would like to extend this request to all of you as well, and have included an attachment of a Stations of the Cross devotion specially adapted with photos and accompanying text by Sister Michele Vincent Fisher, CSFN, to the harrowing situation in Japan.

In this holiest of weeks, when we stand at the foot of the cross, we ask that you take your place in prayer with us as we support the people of Japan.

We Are All One

Little Japanese Girl
The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur have been in mission in Japan for the past 85 years. Primarily, the Sisters administer and teach in educational institutions from pre-school through university levels. Our schools were not directly affected by the natural disasters last month. However, Sisters' families and many of their students' families have suffered unbearable losses. All of them continue to be gravely concerned about radiation, water contamination, food shortages and other hardships such as limited access to electricity and public transportation to and from their jobs. During this Holy Week when we recall the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus, the Sisters have asked the world to pray with them for the healing of Japan.
