Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur…make known God’s goodness
As Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, our lives are rooted in our experience of Good’s goodness. All of the ways we serve God’s people are to be an expression of that fundamental experience of God.

... continuing a strong educational tradition….
More than 200 years after St. Julie Billiart founded the Sisters of Notre Dame, the ministry that comes most naturally to us is education. You can still find us in the classroom, whether it is a girls’ school in the United States, an elementary school in Nigeria, or a new Montessori school in Nicaragua. You can also find us teaching in less conventional ways: doing prenatal health education in Tambogrande, Peru, educating asylum seekers in Britain and farm workers in Florida.

…we take our stand with poor people, especially women and children, in the most abandoned places.
We share the hardships of the people among whom we live and work, whether it is outages of electricity in the Congo, water that must be treated before consumption in Peru, or urban violence in the United States.

Each of us commits her one and only life to work with others to create justice and peace for all. We invite you to meet some of our Sisters and share our mission.

Sisters of Notre Dame, women with hearts as wide as the world, make known God’s goodness and love of the poor through a Gospel way of life, community and prayer. Continuing a strong educational tradition, we take our stand with poor people, especially women and children, in the most abandoned places.

Each of us commits her one and only life to work with others to create justice and peace for all.
