Women and Children
The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur around the globe are working to stand with the materially poor — especially women and children.
From the beginning of our Congregation, we have been called by our constitutions to reach out to "the poor in the most abandoned places." More recently, we have been called to focus on women and children. Economic and social conditions in many places around the world are particularly hard on women and children, and with widespread governmental spending reductions on health, education and social services, the suffering of women and children is increased.
Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur take up critical advocacy roles in the cause of justice and peace and quality of life for women and children who are illiterate, abused, diseased, driven from their homes and who seek necessary education and adequate health care.
