The Sisters of Notre-Dame de Namur make known the goodness of God…
Our lives are rooted in the goodness of God. Every place we are gives us the opportunity to proclaim the goodness of God to the people we serve and minister with.
We continue a strong tradition of education…
More than 200 years after the founding of our congregation by Saint Julie Billiart, you will find the Sisters of Notre-Dame in classrooms, in a girls' school or a mixed school in the United States, a primary class in Nigeria, or a new preschool in Nicaragua. You also find us teaching in less conventional ways in a prenatal education class in Tambogrande in Peru, in classes for asylum seekers in Britain and farm workers in Florida.
We stand with people living in poverty…
We specially accompany women and children to the most abandoned places. We share the struggles of the people among whom we live and work, experiencing power outages in Congo, boiling contaminated water and filtering it before drinking in Zimbabwe, or living in situations frightening because of urban violence in the United States.
Each of us commits our one and only life to working with others to create justice and peace for all.
We invite you to meet some of our sisters and share our mission.
