Honoring St. Josephine Bahkita

February 8th is the day we honor Saint Josephine Bakhita (1869-1947), a woman whose life proclaims the power of dignity, freedom, and hope. Born in Sudan and enslaved as a child, Josehine Bakhita endured unspeakable suffering—yet never allowed cruelty to define her heart.

May her witness move us to stand against all forms of exploitation, to honor the sacred dignity of each person, and to choose hope – especially where suffering persists.
