We work to enable people living in poverty. We help them to obtain what is rightfully theirs by changing unjust structures. We believe that education in varied forms is the best way to accomplish this goal.<\/p>\n

Although many Sisters continue to staff schools, others have chosen to work with the homeless, AIDS patients, the elderly poor — and countless others in need of help. All these ministries have one aim: to proclaim in our time, as St. Julie did in hers, that God is good!<\/p>\n

Santa Julia Billiart fund\u00f3 las Hermanas de Notre Dame de Namur para dar a conocer la bondad de Dios, especialmente entre las personas m\u00e1s empobrecidas y abandonadas del mundo. "Nos esforzamos por crecer 'en el esp\u00edritu de Mar\u00eda, la virtud de Mar\u00eda, la fuerza y el poder de Mar\u00eda'". (Constituciones #50) Hoy, las Hermanas de Notre Dame de Namur trabajan con refugiados en Londres, ni\u00f1os de la calle en Nairobi, trabajadores agr\u00edcolas inmigrantes en Florida, hu\u00e9rfanos del SIDA en Zimbabue, personas sin hogar en Hait\u00ed... y siempre, con mujeres y ni\u00f1os, que se encuentran entre los m\u00e1s vulnerables. Trabajamos para ayudar a las personas que viven en la pobreza. Les ayudamos a obtener lo que les corresponde por derecho cambiando las estructuras injustas. Creemos que la educaci\u00f3n en diversas formas es la mejor manera de lograr este objetivo. Reconocidas como educadoras destacadas, miles de Hermanas de Notre Dame de Namur han ense\u00f1ado a ni\u00f1os y adultos a lo largo de los a\u00f1os en los cinco continentes. Aunque muchas hermanas siguen trabajando en escuelas, otras han optado por trabajar con personas sin hogar, enfermos de sida, ancianos pobres y un sinn\u00famero de personas necesitadas de ayuda.
