Lent 2021: The Walk to Jerusalem

Feb 12, 2021 | News & Events

The Way to Jerusalem!

To say this is a different time is certainly an understatement!

We begin LENT too, as a different time. We follow Jesus in Scripture on the expected walk to Jerusalem; with his newly chosen Apostles and disciples, the newly cured, the renewed followers and observers.

Each year we join this crowd as we begin our Lenten practices and observances, with the encouragement to Pray, Fast and give Alms!

This year we need more. Our need for Lent remains. Something about the WE, is missing.

Master KG, a songwriter and performer from South Africa, knew he needed more- He started with a beat- and it grew. He wrote a song: https://youtu.be/slDXtw_zvGg

Jerusalem, is my home
Walk with me…
Protect me…
Don’t leave me behind.

A song of encouragement and challenge emerged, it is contagious; He invites us on the Journey; to be together and go to Jerusalem Our Home! It has become a global dance challenge.

Gather with your family, your friends and your co-workers and neighbors – accept the Challenge and dance to Jerusalem. Travel together to “JERUSALEM” ‘Join the crowd, you won’t be left behind – We can all go to Jerusalem together.

We know the way! Our prayer, fasting and our giving alms will change the world. Join the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur this Lent. Together we can make a difference.
