In August 1970, she started to realize her dream for Peru. Three SNDdeNs from the British Province arrived in Lima on their way to Negritos: Sisters Julia Álvarez, Teresa Hartley and Marie Thompson. Their first ministry was to help with catechesis in the parish and later to teach religion in the schools. Meanwhile, the parish priest of Cristo Rey, Fr. Martin O’ Grady, wasted no time and showed the sisters the needs that existed in the archdiocese of Piura, which allowed the sisters to continue with the mission.

In 1974 two sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, along with four sisters from San José de la Apparición with whom we lived in Negritos, arrived in Tambogrande, to the San Andrés parish. The needs were many and there were no structures in place to reach out to the population of the rural district, currently comprised of more than 180 hamlets.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ admin_label=”section” _builder_version=”4.16″ locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row” _builder_version=”4.16″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text module_class=”ip-text-headers” _builder_version=”4.21.0″ z_index_tablet=”500″ text_text_shadow_horizontal_length_tablet=”0px” text_text_shadow_vertical_length_tablet=”0px” text_text_shadow_blur_strength_tablet=”1px” link_text_shadow_horizontal_length_tablet=”0px” link_text_shadow_vertical_length_tablet=”0px” link_text_shadow_blur_strength_tablet=”1px” ul_text_shadow_horizontal_length_tablet=”0px” ul_text_shadow_vertical_length_tablet=”0px” ul_text_shadow_blur_strength_tablet=”1px” ol_text_shadow_horizontal_length_tablet=”0px” ol_text_shadow_vertical_length_tablet=”0px” ol_text_shadow_blur_strength_tablet=”1px” quote_text_shadow_horizontal_length_tablet=”0px” quote_text_shadow_vertical_length_tablet=”0px” quote_text_shadow_blur_strength_tablet=”1px” box_shadow_horizontal_tablet=”0px” box_shadow_vertical_tablet=”0px” box_shadow_blur_tablet=”40px” box_shadow_spread_tablet=”0px” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

In 1978, Sisters Mary Kilpatrick and Agnes Szraga began working in Lima with the Fe y Alegria #34 School and in Tambogrande with health care and pastoral care.

We collaborate with the Ministry of Health and the local parish providing services in physical and mental health as well as accompaniment in the faith for individuals and families.

On December 12, 1981 we were recognized as a region, approved by the General Government.
