The current activities of the sisters are very diverse.<\/h3>\n

Sister Annie still works as a volunteer in the Kauwenberg center in the city of Antwerp with the poorest, the needy, the excluded in all areas of society. She stands between them. The center will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2022.<\/p>\n

  • Sister Bernadette helps the elderly and disabled in a residential and care center in Ghent.<\/li>\n
  • Sister Nina participates in groups that facilitate faith conversations and is active within the Council of Religious of the Diocese of Antwerp, among other things.<\/li>\n
  • The disabled sisters are regularly visited by sisters and current and former employees who support Sister Nina.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The fact that the number of sisters is decreasing does not mean that we cannot celebrate it.<\/h3>\n

    It is important to continue to celebrate each sister for her efforts within the congregation. An anniversary celebration is an excellent opportunity to do this. Out of respect for what the sisters have achieved, it is still important to organize celebrations. Small celebrations are the only events that are still possible, now and in the future. In 2023, the Northern Belgium community was fortunate to have sisters celebrating their 60th or Diamond Jubilee and 75th or Alabaster Jubilee.<\/p>\n

    Although there are only 5 sisters in the community ‘North Belgium’<\/span>, the sisters were celebrated.<\/h3>\n

    They had two celebrations, one in the company of their family and the other celebration with sisters and lay people who are still very involved with the sisters of SNDdeN. These lay people have worked closely together in the past in the apostolate of the sisters.<\/p>\n
