Since the school pact (1968)<\/h3>\n

Our schools have been part of the Federation of Catholic Education and teachers are paid by the State, with the obligation to retire at the age of 65 at the latest. In 2014, the last teaching sister retired. It is through ASSOEC (association of congregational schools) that the sisters still support the lay teachers of Notre-Dame schools in Belgium and France.<\/p>\n

Integration into neighborhoods and popular education movements, opening of a camp house, creation of a community open to young people, correspondence with prisoners, catechism of adults and children , pastoral service in hospitals\u2026 Today, the retired sisters carry out voluntary activity within their possibilities.<\/p>\n

With the decrease in vocations<\/h3>\n

Only one sister is still present in Kinshasa, Dr Marguerite De Clerk (SNDdeN), a diabetologist who, despite her age, gives herself body and soul to support young doctors.<\/p>\n

Life is like a rotating circle.<\/h3>\n

Since 1894, the Belgian sisters have shared their material and human resources with the Congo. Today, they benefit from the presence of Congolese sisters who share the mission with them in Thuin, Namur and Cuvilly.<\/p>\n
