The original fifty-three members have been joined by twenty-six others. The Unit is geographically diverse. Its members live in thirteen states and the District of Columbia. We are spread across the United States from the Pacific to the Atlantic, from New England to the South Atlantic, and by members who minister in Brazil and in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The structure of our circular style of governance is formed by three Networks. The Communications Network addresses both internal and external communication. The Economic Network works with the many dimensions of finance and the Life Care Network addresses our aging and health care needs. The Networks perform the administrative tasks that fulfill our responsibilities to the Congregation, to the Unit, to each other and to Civil Society. Several committees exist to address short term needs. Policy decisions are decided by the Unit at the Annual Gathering.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

History and Mission SND Base Communities, established in 1989SND Base Communities arose from the dream of Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur who were members of the Maryland Province.
