Our lives are rooted in God’s goodness. Every place where we are gives us the opportunity to proclaim God’s goodness to the people to whom and with whom we serve in ministry.

We continue a strong educational tradition….

More than 200 years after the founding of our Congregation by St. Julie Billiart, you will find the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in classrooms, in a girls’ or a co-educational school in the United States, an elementary school in Nigeria, or a new Montessori school in Nicaragua. You find us teaching also in less conventional ways in a prenatal health education class in Tambogrande, Peru, in classes for asylum seekers in Britain and farm workers in Florida.

We take our stand with people living in poverty…

We accompany especially women and children, in the most abandoned places. We share the hardships of people among whom we live and work, in experiencing outages of electricity in the Congo, boiling and treating contaminated water before consumption in Zimbabwe, or living in fearful situations with urban violence in the United States.

Each of us commits her one and only life to work with others to create justice and peace for all. We invite you to meet some of our Sisters and share our mission.

The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur value Communication of all its forms! We bond with one another through verbal and non-verbal communications, for building and strengthening our relationships internationally and cross-culturally, and for collaborating with our Associates, Notre Dame Mission Volunteers, Co-workers, and Partners in Mission. We network for the Mission of the Gospel, the Church and our Religious Congregation in making known God’s goodness in our time, and in all the places where we serve. We commit ourselves to stand with those made poor by the unjust structures of the society.
